This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what your rights are. It applies to www.artbykauner.com and to enquiries, commissions and purchases made through it. Last updated 12 October 2026.

What we collect and why
Enquiries and commissions
When you use the contact or commission form, we receive your name, email address, phone number if you give it, your message and the painting you ask about. We use this only to answer you, quote shipping and agree a sale or commission. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in replying to messages (art. 6(1)(f)).
Purchases
If you buy a painting or commission one, we also keep your billing and delivery address and the details needed to invoice and ship it. The legal basis is the contract with you (art. 6(1)(b)) and our duty to keep accounts under the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act (art. 6(1)(c)).
Visiting the website
The website is hosted by Vercel, which records technical data such as IP address, browser and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count visits and measure page speed. These tools do not use cookies, do not build a profile of you and only show us aggregated figures. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website and in knowing how it is used (art. 6(1)(f)).
To show prices in US dollars and euros, your browser fetches current exchange rates from frankfurter.dev, which, like any website, receives your IP address. The rates are stored in your browser for one day (local storage key fx). No personal data is stored there.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies.
Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising. We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf:
- Formspree receives form submissions and forwards them to our email.
- Vercel hosts the website and provides the analytics described above.
- Google provides the email account where messages arrive.
- Shipping and insurance companies receive your name and delivery address when a painting is sent.
- Our accountant and payment provider receive what is needed to invoice and keep accounts.
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Transfers there are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, as offered by each provider.
Links to Instagram and other websites lead to services with their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a sale or commission are deleted within 12 months. Records of sales are kept for five years after the end of the financial year, as the Bookkeeping Act requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, and receive it in a portable format. Write to artbykauner@gmail.com and we will answer within one month. Some data must be kept for accounting even if you ask for deletion.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.no).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date.
