Terms of service

These terms apply to purchases and commissions from Art by K.Auner. Buying from the website or agreeing a commission means you accept them. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under Norwegian law.

The seller

Katrin Auner Design, org. nr. 929 750 284, Jacob Buvigs plass 19, 1671 Kråkerøy, Fredrikstad, Norway. Email artbykauner@gmail.com, phone +47 405 76 642.

Originals only

Every work sold here is an original painting, made and signed by Katrin Auner. No prints or editions are made. Once a painting is sold it is no longer available, and a work marked sold on the website cannot be bought.

Ordering and payment

An enquiry through the website is not a purchase. A sale is agreed when Katrin confirms the painting is available and you accept the price and shipping quote, after which you receive an invoice. The painting is reserved for you once the invoice is paid. Until then it remains for sale.

Prices are in Norwegian kroner. Amounts shown in other currencies are approximate and for guidance only; the invoice is in kroner. Sales of an artist’s own original works are exempt from Norwegian VAT, so no VAT is added.

Shipping

Shipping is quoted for each painting based on destination and size, and agreed before you pay. Every shipment is packed by the studio and fully insured from the studio to your door. If a painting arrives damaged, tell us within 3 days with photographs and the insurance covers it.

For deliveries outside Norway, import VAT, customs duties and handling fees charged in the destination country are the buyer’s responsibility and are not included in the price or the shipping quote.

Right of withdrawal

As a consumer buying at a distance you may withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving the painting, without giving a reason (Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act, angrerettloven). To withdraw, send a clear statement by email to artbykauner@gmail.com within the 14 days. You may use the form below but do not have to.

Return the painting within 14 days of telling us, in its original condition and packaging, insured, at your own cost. The purchase price is refunded within 14 days of the painting arriving back, to the same payment method. Any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is needed to inspect the work may be deducted.

Commissions are exempt. A painting made to your specification is excluded from the right of withdrawal, and by ordering a commission you acknowledge this.

Withdrawal form

To Katrin Auner Design, Jacob Buvigs plass 19, 1671 Kråkerøy, Norway, artbykauner@gmail.com:
I hereby withdraw from my purchase of the painting [title], ordered on [date], received on [date].
Name, address, date and signature (if on paper).

Commissions

A commission begins with a written agreement on subject, size, medium, price and delivery time. A 30% deposit is due before work starts and is non-refundable, since it covers materials and work that cannot be reused. The balance is due on completion, before shipping or collection. Progress and the finished work are shared for approval; reasonable adjustments within the agreed brief are included. A commissioned painting cannot be returned under the right of withdrawal.

Defects

If a painting has a defect that was present at delivery, you may complain within a reasonable time after discovering it, and no later than five years after delivery, under the Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven). Contact us first; the remedy is repair, replacement where possible, a price reduction or a refund.

Natural materials move. Canvases and wooden stretchers can shift slightly with changes in temperature and humidity, which is normal and not a defect. Keep paintings out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources and damp.

Copyright

Buying a painting gives you the physical work. Copyright stays with Katrin Auner. You may display and resell the painting, but not reproduce it, sell reproductions, or use it commercially without written permission. Katrin may continue to show images of the work in her portfolio and on the website.

Accuracy

Colours on screen differ from the painting. Dimensions are given in centimetres and may vary by a few millimetres. Obvious errors in a listed price may be corrected before a sale is confirmed.

Disputes

Norwegian law applies. Consumers may bring a complaint to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) or, within the EU/EEA, use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr. Disputes are otherwise heard by the courts of Norway.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The version published on the website at the time of purchase applies to that purchase. Last updated 4 September 2026.
